Zander Allen Jones

Zander Allen Jones, more commonly known to those who loved him as Bubba, Zan-man, Zan Zan and Big Boy, passed away at the young age of 14 on January 13, 2023 surrounded by close family and friends at Primary Children’s Hospital following a tragic accident.

Zander loved riding dirt bikes and four-wheelers. He loved to come up with excuses to drive the car, but don’t tell the cops! He loved playing and hacking video games with his sisters, whether it be on the computer, VR headset, switch, or any other gaming console. He loved watching funny videos on YouTube and TikTok. He would make his own videos with one getting almost 2 million views which he was so proud of. He loved hanging out with his special group of friends playing air soft, riding wheelers, playing video games, and we are sure, causing lots of trouble. He was so incredibly smart. He was extremely knowledgeable about cars and electronics, making sure to watch all the new apple events online so he was up to date and could discuss the changes with his dad. He was a big teddy bear at over 6 feet tall with a size 13 shoe. He loved to brag and tease his sisters that he was taller than them and even passed his mom up more recently which made him so happy. He loved to play the trumpet in band and was so excited to be invited to play with the high school pep band. He was incredibly funny and always wanted to make people smile and laugh, even if he got in trouble for doing so. He loved being Grandpa Doug’s sidekick out in the shed followed by treats in their famous treat cabinet. He would run errands with Grandma Robin to not only be with her, but to also be able to go out to eat with her. He loved food! The pantry had to be stocked with boxes of Mac ’n cheese at all times. He could whip up a batch in no time with extra things added to make it gourmet. He hated soda, but loved lemonade and gatorade. He could be seen more common than not in a camo hoodie and shorts, whether rain or shine. He was kind to everyone and always willing to help those around him, making it even more special that he was able to help others, in the end, by donating his organs. He was a special young man who leaves a giant hole in our hearts.

We have been overwhelmed by the support of our family, friends, and community. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for loving our boy.

Zander is survived by his parents, Casey and Briana, and his 2 older sisters, Maizy and Zoey. He was preceded in death by his Grandma Maureen.

A viewing will be held Tuesday, January 17th from 5-8pm and Wednesday, January 18th from 9-10:30am followed by the funeral at 11am at the Coalville Stake Center. Graveside service will be at the Coalville City Cemetery.

Special thanks to Primary Children’s Hospital, Summit County EMS, North Summit Fire, and Airmed for their tender care of Zander, and Coalville 2nd Ward for their help preparing the service. Extra thanks to his “special nurse moms” Cindy, Mandy, and Jami who stood by for 2 straight nights to support our family and Zander, and to Zander’s friend who tried to help him at the accident.
