Wilma Pollard, 91, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully returned to her heavenly home on September 3, 2023 in Taylorsville, Utah. She was born on July 31, 1932 in Salt Lake City to James and LaRue Petersen. Wilma married the love of her life Kenneth Pollard on October 19, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Her life was punctuated by almost every major event in the last century. It’s humbling to think of seeing and living through so much and yet remaining faithful to family and Church.
Ken and Wilma spent many years traveling the country in their motorhome. Their favorite place to visit was Bear Lake. Wilma was a homemaker and served faithfully in many callings in the Church.
Wilma is survived by her children Dan (Diana), Terry (Lynn), Cheryl (Salvador), 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sister (Betty Lou), and brother (Wallace).
Wilma’s family would like to thank the staff of Meadow Peak for caring for her with love and dignity during her final days.
There will be a graveside service on Monday, September 11, 2023 at 2 p.m. at the Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park, 17111 S. 1700 W., Bluffdale, UT.
