William €Œwee†Lopez

Wee passed away peacefully on October 6, 2020 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. He was born on January 9, 1927 to Albino Sr. and Melisendra Lopez in Bingham Canyon, Utah. He attended school in Bingham Canyon until his enlistment in the U.S. Navy. He was unable to finish high school; however, he was given an honorary Bingham High School Graduation Diploma in recognition for outstanding sacrifice and success in serving our country during World War II. Upon his return to the States, he started his employment with Kennecott Copper Mine, which would last 44 years.

July 4, 1948, he married the love of his life, Mary Jane, and they went on to have six children of their own and adopted their granddaughter. They resided in Bingham Canyon and Midvale, Utah, where they seemed to know everyone. You could not go to town without them running into an old friend.

Wee loved sports! He was a huge Utah Jazz fan, watched every game and could tell you about the players. He was an avid golfer and bowler and passed the love for sports down to his children. You could find him and his sons on the golf course most weekends or the bowling center during the week.

He is survived by daughters: Susan Wood (Midvale), Billie Hewitt (Midvale), Tammie (Martin) Iverson (Dalton Gardens, ID), Kelli Welch (Georgia); numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his beloved spouse, Mary Jane; children: Gilbert, Al, Diane; his father, mother and all his siblings.

There will be no services. Interment will be in the Midvale City Cemetery, Midvale, Utah.
