William Henry Smith, Jr.

William (Bill) Henry Smith passed away peacefully on August 11, 2021 at the age of 95. Bill was born February 5, 1926 to William Henry and Lorena Smith in Union, Utah. Bill graduated from Jordan High School. He then served in the US Army in the South Pacific during the Second World War. Upon returning home he married Blanche Ebert on May 31, 1947 and their marriage was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They had 4 children, Craig (Sharon), Stephen (Diane), Rick (Laura) and Lorena (David). Bill attended University of Utah and received a Bachelor's degree. He later received a Master's degree from BYU. He taught school for 30 years. Bill loved life, people and adventure. He also loved dancing and singing. He is probably in heaven with Blanche right now singing and dancing.

Bill is survived by his children, Craig, Rick, Lorena, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

His wife Blanche, son Stephen and grandson Spencer preceded Bill in death.

The family wants to thank the wonderful staff at the William E. Christoffersen Veterans Home for the love and support they gave to him, and thank you to Bristol Hospice for the care he received in the final days of his life.

The viewing will be from 9:30 am to 10:45 am and the funeral services will be at 11:00 am, on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at the Granite Ridge Ward, 9575 South 3100 East. The dedication will follow at Granite Cemetery, 9783 So. Carriagehouse Lane.
