William Laird Park

William "Bill" Laird Park, 84, passed away March 5, 2016 in Salt Lake City, UT. Born on March 29, 1931 to William Densell and Ardella Laird Park, he married Ann Payne in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on August 7, 1953. Ann preceded Bill in graduating from this life in 2007. Together they had five children: Leslie (John), David (Valerie), Wayne (Nancy), Andrea (Bruce), John (Jacqee); 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Bill was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all of his life, and served faithfully in whatever he was called to do, including as a Bishop and also as Branch President at the Sandy Midvalley Assisted Living Branch. He served two full time missions for the church; one as a young man to the Central Atlantic States and later with his wife in the West Indies. During Bill's distinguished career he was a Professor of Agricultural Economics at Rutgers University and an Associate Dean at Brigham Young University.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Sandy Midvalley 5th Ward, 1211 E. 7800 S., Midvale. Friends may call Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street, Midvale and Thursday, 10-10:45 a.m. at the ward house. Interment at the Orem City Cemetery.
