William (Bill) J. Lalor, 73, of Salt Lake City, UT, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2024.
Born on October 20, 1951, in Spokane, WA, to Lois and Jack Lalor, Bill was the third of four sons and one daughter. His family moved to Bountiful, UT, in 1960, where he attended St. Olaf’s School and graduated from Bountiful High School in 1970. As a kid Bill enjoyed building model cars, which carried over to his coveted white GTO that he spent time cruising around town in. Bill eventually bought and restored his dream car, a red TR6. Bill loved working on cars and enjoyed taking drives up into the canyons.
Bill's career path was diverse. He worked as a QA inspector on atomic power plants in the eastern Washington and Olympia areas, eventually transferring to Delta, UT working in their coal plant. Later, he joined his brother Dan in the family candy brokerage business. After its dissolution in 2004, he pursued other ventures, including working for another brokerage company and then selling cars at an Acura dealership, a passion he truly enjoyed.
Bill was a devoted father to his three children, Christian, Stefan, and Sean. He was also a proud grandfather to Stefan’s daughter, Lyvia, whom he loved to call his Baby Girl #2. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his older brother, Thomas. Bill is survived by his three children, granddaughter, brothers John and Dan, and sister Anne.
Bill was a devoted and lifelong Seattle Seahawks fan. He always followed his team & rarely missed watching a game. One of his happiest moments was watching the Seahawks win the Superbowl in 2014.
Bill loved music and movies, having a great collection of records, CDs, and DVDs. He loved cooking and no special occasion was complete without his London Broil, marinated in his special recipe.
Bill loved swimming and once swam in Lake Powell from Halls Crossing to Bullfrog, one of his greatest accomplishments. According to his wishes his ashes will be spread there.
Bill had the biggest heart and an immense amount of love for those he knew. He believed in being a good person with loyalty, values, and integrity. He will be greatly missed, and never forgotten.
