Wendell Brady Nix

Wendell Brady Nix, 93, graduated with honors from this earthly life. We know he is having a fantastic reunion with his parents, siblings, daughter Mary Robison, and grandson Kenny Robison, who all preceded him in death.

Faith and family were the most important things in his life. He served as a youth leader, temple worker, Bishop, and Stake Patriarch.

He leaves behind his sweetheart of 73 years, Florence May Nix, as well as his remaining 9 children: Carolyn (Les) Wilcken, Wendy Angel, Louise (Charles) Lee, Lindsay (Becky) Nix, Janice (Craig) Johnson, Jeanette (Dave) Hutchison, Kelly (Brad) Shumway, Karen (Bob) Davila, and Julia (Eddie) Martin.

Dad was a numbers guy. He was so proud of his 9 daughters and 1 son. He enjoyed counting-whether it was grandchildren (41), great-grandchildren (58), or a great-great grandchild (1). He also liked to count and collect coins and lie on the sofa in the living room counting the cars passing by.

He'll be remembered for his, "Did I ever tell you I love you? Well, I do," and tickling the palms of small hands while saying "poor grandpa" as he rubbed them down his whiskery face. Dad deeply loved each of his posterity. He was a memory maker and a memory keeper. He's left us with family pictures, original poems, home movies, and many wonderful memories. We will miss his quick wit and wisdom.

Dad was a gentleman and a scholar. We know he'll be anxiously waiting for us on the other side. Until we meet again ...

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 24, at 11 a.m. at the Midvalley 1st Ward, 1050 E. Chapel Hill Dr., Midvale, where there will be viewings Friday 6-8 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to the service. Interment, Sandy City Cemetery.
