Wendell G. King

Wendell G. King peacefully left this earthly existence at 1:05 p.m. on June 18, 2015. He was born on June 30, 1924, the first son of Wells R. and Eliza R. King. Wendell dearly loved the Lord and valiantly served in his many church callings all of his life. He served as a medic in the U.S. Army during World War II. Many of those who knew him well will fondly remember his vibrant knowledge of the gospel, his keen sense of humor, his love and devotion to his family and his delightfully "Red Shoes". He loved people and delighted in helping those around him. He was the best husband and father in the world, always there for us with sage wisdom and comforting advice. His grandchildren adored him.

Wendell was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Rutter Margetts King. They were married for 39 years and had 7 children, Wendell Lynn "Chipper" King, Wendy Lee King (Crizer), Melody Rae King (Olson), Wells Brynce King, Wilford Ross King, Wade Guy King and Weldon Rex King. Wendell married Gae Rowberry June 15, 1989 and she brought to the marriage three sons, Wayne Petty, Chris Petty and Jason Bess. Wendell had 33 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. Wendell will be missed by those who knew and loved him. He leaves a great legacy and indeed was a mountain among men. We would like to thank the wonderful group at Hospice for Utah, Michael, Leslie, Nicole, Keith, Joe and all the others who cared so lovingly for Wendell.
