Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the Huntsman Cancer Institute Hospital.
Sam, age 76, was born in the Coalville Hospital on January 27, 1942. Sam married Luana Lewis on February 17, 1961. They later divorced on December 15, 2000.
On June 23, 2001, Sam married Leone Johnson, his lifelong classmate, best friend, and sweetheart. Sam and Leone were married for 18 years and lived life to its fullest. You didn't see Sam without Leone, they were best friends and eternal companions. They loved to travel especially to their home in Mesquite, Nevada where they enjoyed riding their ATV's with friends and seeing the beautiful southern landscapes. Together they attend rodeos and looked forward to class reunions. The South Summit Class of 1960 was a special class with friendships continuing today.
Sam enjoyed life; he was always ready for a new adventure. Sam was raised on a farm in Marion, Utah, where he learned the value of hard work, a value he lived by throughout his life. Through his hard work and sense of business, in 1988, Sam opened Precision Truck and Trailer. This successful business is still operating today by his son Kyle. Kyle and Sam enjoyed many years together playing fast pitch soft ball. Sam was a perfectionist, both in his appearance, lifestyle and ethic.
Sam had a giving heart and donated to the Oakley Rodeo and Summit County Fair Rodeo for many years.
