Wayne Sorensen Wood

Wayne Sorensen Wood was born May 19, 1953 and died July 1st, 2022. Wayne was a wonderful man, always willing to help. He worked for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints all his professional career in accounting and auditing. He served as Bishop in the Parkwood 2nd Ward in Kearns. He worked in the Jordan River Temple as a Temple worker until he was unable to continue due to mobility issues.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his buddies Greg and Turpin. He was an avid reader and always enjoyed a good book. Stubborn as a mule, but steadfast and faithful as a granite rock, he served the Lord and his family all his life which was cut too short.

He is survived by his wife Jeanie, his four children Ryan, Jeremy, Michael and Angela and his brothers Neil and Keith. He was preceded in death by his father Collin, mother Ruth Sorensen, and siblings Robert and Lois Steadman.

Viewing will be Friday, July 8 at 12 noon at the Parkwood Chapel at 5927 South Park Wood Drive in Kearns, Utah. Funeral services will start at 1 pm. Burial will be at Memorial Redwood, 6500 South Redwood Road in West Jordan. A huge thank you to everyone for their support and prayers for our family.
