Wayne Robert Nielson

Wayne Robert Nielson, 75, of Midvale, Utah passed away Friday, September 14, 2018 at his home surrounded by family from complications of IPF.

Wayne was born on June, 19, 1943 in Murray, Utah to Wayne Albert and Dorothy Nielson. He worked for 37 years as an Army Aviation flight maintenance supervisor at West Jordan Airport #2. On August 27, 1961 he married Linda Smith. They raised two sons, Cory and Ty, and a daughter, Melinda.

Wayne enjoyed hunting, camping, riding ATV's and traveling with family and friends. He especially enjoyed trips to White River, Yellowstone and Flaming Gorge. He had a great love for his grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed sharing his outdoor experiences with them.

Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Albert, his mother, Dorothy and his granddaughter Danielle. He is survived by his wife Linda of 57 years, son Cory (Leslie), son Ty (Yvonne), daughter Melinda (David) Carpenter, brother Randy (DyAnn), and many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. He was a loving father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to everyone. He will always be remembered as Papa by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A memorial gathering will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street, Midvale, Ut 84047.
