Walter Lee Bryson

April 12, 1938 — February 8, 2022

Walter Lee Bryson

On February 8, 2022, Lee Bryson passed away peacefully at his Midvale home, surrounded by his family. Lee was born April 12, 1938 to Delbert Holbrook Bryson and Clara Page in Salt Lake City.  Lee & his siblings grew up in East Millcreek and Sugarhouse.  In 1956 he married Dorothy Clark. They later divorced.  After having been a bachelor for 12 years, he met & married Diane Middlesworth in 1973.  Lee & Diane were later sealed in the Laie Hawaii Temple. Although theirs was a yours, mine, & ours family, each of the kids thought they were his favorite.

Lee was a dedicated father and husband. He provided for his family and was willing to help wherever he could.  He loved simple things-a Snickers bar, a homemade cookie or a cold Dr. Pepper made his day.  He was proud of his service in the US Army and was patriotic and often flew the flag.  He was a quiet example of Christlike love.

Lee started working in his family's business when he was 5 years old and it was no surprise when he decided to retire early.  The last 20 years since retirement were spent with kids and grandkids, serving a mission with Diane, helping take care of his kids' houses, and "never missing a day of work." He thrived on being able to help someone and was willing, even when his body wasn't able.  He had a mischievous twinkle in his stunning blue eyes and a great smile that lit up a room.

Lee is survived by his wife, Diane; daughters Sheri Olson (Bob), Kathy Neverline (Lance), Lisa Christianson (Cory), & Jana Evans, son Brett; and brother Nicholas (Sheila), 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, mother-in-law Phyllis Watson (Merrit), and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by son-in-law Ralph Olson, his parents, & siblings Joyce, Marian, Robert, and Betty Lou.

A viewing will be held on Monday, February 14th from 6 - 8 p.m. for family and friends at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the Midvale 7th Ward Building at 8350 South Jackson Street.  Prior to the funeral service, a viewing will be from 10 - 10:45 a.m. Interment, Midvale Cemetery.
