Vivian Lucille Johnson White of Midvale, Utah, 90, died October 20, 2015 in Murray, Utah. She was born October 13, 1925 in Crescent, Utah, the daughter of James and Sophia Johnson. Vivian grew up in Riverton, Utah with 10 brothers and sisters. She graduated from Jordan High School with honors. She went on to graduate from secretary school. Vivian met her sweetheart Lamar H. White, and married on Feb. 6, 1945 in Riverton, Utah, and they were sealed in the Cardston Temple one year later. Lamar passed away on April 15, 1999. Vivian was passionate about genealogy and spent her life researching both her and Lamar's family history. Vivian was an active member of the LDS Church having served in many leadership roles, including Stake Relief Society, and the Extraction Program associated with Family Genealogy Research.
Survived by her daughters, Linda White, Charlene Kerekes and Geneal White; son, Doug (Leslie) White; ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren; brothers, Burt Johnson, Leon (Karen) Johnson and Gary (Laura) Johnson; sister, Lois (Bob) Fails; sister-in-law, June (Glen) Johnson. Preceded in death by her husband, Lamar H. White; parents, James and Sophia Johnson; brothers, Glen Johnson and Donald Johnson (infant); sisters, Doris (Leslie Dean) Mabey, Norma Johnson and Arlene (Lew) Bergstrom.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 26, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Midvalley 1st Ward Chapel, 1050 E. Chapel Hill Drive. Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street, and Monday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church before the services. Interment, Sandy City Cemetery.
