Virginia (Sally) Lowe Meyer passed away peacefully on June 17, 2021. Virginia was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming, on July 23, 1930 to Charles and Beulah Lowe. She married Arthur Meyer April 21, 1947, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married for 72 years at the time of Art's passing. They were faithful members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They had 7 children (their first died in infancy) and raised them in the gospel. Virginia was very blessed to be a stay-at-home mother and enjoyed sewing clothes for her children and later her grandchildren.
She was a member of a bowling league at Junction Lanes bowling alley for many years. She enjoyed gardening and always a beautiful yard of flowers and bushes.
During their early retirement years, Art and Virginia bought a trailer and spent each winter in Arizona and Las Vegas to escape the snow until they moved to Lander, Wyoming where they made many friends and enjoyed the country life. From there they served a two-year mission at the Ogden, Utah Temple, driving down every other week and staying for 4 days. After having back surgery and breast cancer the decision was made to move back to Utah to be closer to their children.
When Art was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, he developed dementia and was moved to Legacy House in South Jordan, Utah. After 2 months, Virginia was so lonely that she sold the house and moved to Legacy House to be with her beloved husband. After his passing she became very lonely and the Covid restrictions made things worse because her children were not able to visit her. She moved to a remote island off Washington State to live with her granddaughter, Shallon Markus Jordan who took loving care of her for the past year until she passed away.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Art, and their son, Douglas. She is survived by 6 children, Lagena (Glen) Fendley, Boyd Meyer, Craig Meyer, Ranee (Ken) Markus, Pam Beebe and Jason (Shawn) Meyer. She had 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Funeral service will be held at the Goff Mortuary, 8090 State Street, Midvale, June 28th at 1:00 pm with a viewing 1 hour prior. Interment will be at Camp Williams with her loving husband.
