Virginia was born April 15, 1926 to Ermenejlo and Maria Renteria. Virginia died peacefully Sept. 11, 2018. She married Felix Gonzales on August 14, 1952, later divorced. She leaves behind her best friend and companion of 30 years, Abedon "Abe" Montoya. Virginia had no children of her own but loved being with her many nieces and nephews. She loved going to Wendover and always looked forward to her next trip to "win the big one." She was a sweet and caring sister and aunt. When visiting, she always wanted to feed you and know what was going on in your life. Virginia loved jalapeño peppers and always carried a few in her purse just in case the food she was eating wasn't spicy enough.
A special thanks to her nieces Gloria, Teresa and Georgia for their constant loving care of Tia Virginia, to her hospice care nurses, Cheryl and Kim and to Harmony Hill Assisted Living. She is survived by her sister, Paula Perri, sister in-law, Darlene Renteria and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, brothers Louie, Alfonso, Roger and Juan and sister, Margret.
