Virginia Carraway, a beloved mother, wife, sister, daughter and friend to all who knew her, moved on to the next chapter in her story on February 24, 2021. She is preceded in death by her beloved son Ryan and her parents. She is survived by her twin brother RJ Vleck, her sister Meg Ford, her husband Bud Carraway of 55 years, their oldest son Sean Carraway, 4 grandchildren, and 2 great grand children, all of whom are committed to living their lives to the fullest and most rewarding way, to honor her. Virgy would have wanted and loved that.
Shortly after her and her twin brother RJ graduated from high school they both enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1964. Imagine that, a beautiful, blond marine full of life who served her country with pride and honor (in the 1960's). That is where she met the love of her life Bud Carraway. They were married a short time latter. Bud was given orders to Vietnam and Virginia was to be a mother to Sean. She stayed home and kept the home fires burning as Bud was deployed overseas.
During their 55 years together Bud and Virgy lived several places but always found home to be Salt Lake. They keep their roots their but spread their wings and traveled as many places as they could dream, from Hawaii, Arizona, Idaho, they even took a long trip all around the Pacific North West to the Canadian border, the Puget Sound and back home. Knowing Bud and Virgy, you knew their commitment to each other and to anyone around them in need. Virginia will be deeply missed, but Virginia would want each and everyone reading this to know she holds you in her heart now and forever, and she wishes you to enjoy every moment of life!
A celebration of life will be held a later date. Anyone wishing to commemorate Virginia's life may make a donation to the Marines Toys for Tots, in lieu of flowers.
