Vida Mackelprang Leigh, our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend passed away peacefully of natural causes on December 5, 2015 at the age of 84.

She was born the oldest of 6 children to Willard and Maurine Mackelprang on September 25, 1931 in Cedar City, Utah. She graduated from Valley High School in Glendale, Utah. She attended the BAC (known as SUU) in Cedar City. She obtained her Master's in Family and Community History from BYU.

She married Cordon N. Leigh on December 2, 1955 in the St. George Temple for time and all eternity. They were blessed with four children, Gene Cordon Leigh (deceased), Leon C Leigh (deceased), Brenda L Woodman, and Kent Jason Leigh (Go). She was also blessed with four grandchildren, Cole C Woodman (Jess), Carson L Brimley (Sean), Kuman W. Leigh, and Rebekha Leigh. She also was blessed with 5 great grandchildren, Nixon, Vivian, Rowen, Lily and Violet. She also leaves behind her loving siblings, RueDell Sudweeks, Bennion Mackelprang (deceased), LouVerda Reed (deceased), AJ Mackelprang (Sandra), Stephen Mackelprang (Julie), nieces, nephews, cousins and many loved friends.

The viewing will be held December 10, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St., Midvale, Utah. On December 11, 2015, we will have a viewing from 8:45-9:45 a.m., and the funeral will follow at 10:00 a.m. at the LDS 6th Ward church located at 8171 S. Jackson St., Midvale, Utah. Following the funeral we will take her to her final resting place in the Cedar City Cemetery next to her loving husband and two boys, Gene and Leon (located at 685 N. Main St. at approximately 3:30).
