Vernon Hooper, 81 passed away peacefully at home 10-09-2021.

Born 10-15-1939 to Vernon Hooper and Grace Amanda Vest in Salt Lake City, Utah. He married Darlene Kirk 3-11-1972.

Survivors: sons, daughters, Roger Hooper (Jennifer), Terrie Hooper (Trent), Elizabeth Mains (Mark), Shawn Hooper, Alysia Burrows (Layne) & Jolene Hooper, brothers Bruce C. Hunter (Gail), John Wuthrich, Dale Barney, Lawrence Kirk (Beth), & Veldon Kirk (Sonhwa). He had many grandchildren, great grandchildren & great great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: parents Vernon Hooper & Grace Amanda Vest, sisters Elaine Moore, Mary Wuthrich, Gloria Knight, & Raeanne Barney, brother Andrew Hooper.

Served eight years in the U.S. Army and was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division as a Paratrooper.

Favorite hobbies include: camping, fishing, and hunting. Loved doing boat repairs.

Retired from Local Laborers Union #295. Was a Driller/Blaster on several road jobs in many Western states. Was Pioneer Drill Foreman on the Virgin River Gorge.

Graduated from Salt Lake Community College on 12-10-1993 as a Small Engine Repair/Vehicle Technician. He worked as an instructor at the Salt Lake Community College for Small Engine Repair for one year.

Funeral services are Friday, October 15, 2021. The viewing will be 9:00 a.m. with the funeral at 10:00 a.m. It will be at Goff Mortuary located at 8090 S. State Street in Midvale, Utah. Burial will be in Monroe City, Utah Cemetery and Bruce C. Hunter will offer the dedicatory prayer. Military rites will be conducted.
