Veda Rae Scoffield

Veda Rae Newton Scoffield passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, on Monday, February 22, 2021. She was born on January 20, 1945 to Percy Burdell and Erma Shepard Newton.  She lived most of her life in Mona, a community she truly loved.  Veda was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she loved the Lord and strived to follow the example of the Savior.

Veda married Bryce Scoffield in the spring of 1987.  Veda and Bryce were constant companions enjoying every moment spent together.  One of her favorite things were the many trips they took in their motor home.  She was an excellent crocheter, an avid reader, and was famous for her frog eye salad.  She loved to host family gatherings, especially Christmas and Mona's Pioneer Day Celebration.

She is survived by her husband, Bryce Scoffield, children Ken (Vicki) Whiting, Kerry (Cecy) Whiting, Korby (Maria) Whiting, Kandus (Brian) Bell, stepchildren Tamra, Laura, Brett (BilliJo), Tyler.  (20) grandchildren, (13) great-grandchildren, brother Gordon Newton, sister-in-law Marilyn.

Preceded in death by her parents Percy and Erma Newton, brother Jerry Newton, sister and brother-in-law Cola (Vern) Jensen, sister-in-law Pat Newton.

The family will hold a private memorial, interment will follow in the Mona City Cemetery.
