Vauna Joyce Lubeck Garfield

With faith and grace, Vauna Joyce Lubeck Garfield, 93, returned to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on March 5, 2025. Born on September 22, 1931, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to William and Vera Bailey Lubeck, she was a cherished daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

On April 12, 1951, Vauna was sealed for eternity to Earl J. Garfield in the Salt Lake Temple. Together, they built a life centered on faith, love, and service, raising their family in Draper, Utah.

Vauna’s greatest joy was her family. She deeply loved her eight children, their spouses, and her 51 grandchildren and 89 great-grandchildren, whom she prayed for daily. She embraced life—dancing with square-dancing clubs, working tirelessly on the family farm, and serving others.

Her faith was unwavering. She worshipped regularly at the temple, found peace in spiritual hymns, and lived by God's word. She devoted her life to Jesus Christ, in whose embrace she now rests.

Reunited with her beloved Earl, parents, and daughter May, Vauna leaves behind her children: Boyd (Patty), Sue (Jack) Powers, Kory (Jeanne), Lee (Tammy), Jan (Robert) Nye, Tammie (Earnie) Higham, Paul (Ruth), and Ray (Candice) Garfield.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Corner Canyon Stake Center, 13366 South 1300 East, Draper, Utah, with a viewing from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM prior.

A viewing will be held Friday, March 7, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Anderson & Goff Mortuary, 11859 South 700 East, Draper, Utah.

Vauna’s life was a testament to faith, love, and service. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
