Van Myers passed away peacefully on Monday, July 16, 2018 at the age of 92. Van was born March 14, 1926 in Panguitch, Utah, the first son of James W. and Grace Clark Myers. Van spent his early childhood years working on the family farm and ranch, fishing, hunting, and enjoying the outdoors. He attended Panguitch High School and was drafted during his senior year into the U.S. Army to serve in World War II. He fought for the freedoms we all enjoy in the Pacific Arena.
Upon returning home from the war, Van attended Utah State University where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Auto Mechanics. While at USU, he met and married Lora Wallace. They were married September 19, 1951 in the Logan Temple. Van and Lora started their family in Panguitch, Utah and later moved to the Salt Lake Valley to finish raising their children.
Van loved his family and had an amazing ability to always be there for everyone for nearly every event. He had an untiring desire and drive to love and serve them. Somehow he managed to work several jobs at once, grow a huge garden that he shared with many people, fix family and friend's cars, attend nearly every grandchild and great grandchild event, telling a joke and sharing a smile the whole time.
The most important thing to Van was his family. He is survived by his children WylaGene Seal, Jillyn (Don Flynn) Myers, and Rex (Julie) Myers. His posterity includes 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife Lora, his son Kevin, his parents Jim and Grace, and his siblings Elda, Fern, Lewis, and Clark.
