Valda Larue Edwards

Valda LaRue Edwards, 93, passed away surrounded by close family after a short but valiant fight against a sudden stroke. She was loved by all who knew her and was the "soft" rock of our family. We will greatly miss her. Her love reached into the deepest corners of our lives and made us better individuals.

She was born to Vernon and Iva Larsen on Nov 26, 1921 in Elsinore, Utah. LaRue married Ferrell Edwards on January 9, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were married for over 68 years when her soulmate and love of her life passed away on March 7, 2010. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many positions. Her favorites were being Primary President and working at the Jordan River Temple. She loved people and especially children. She truly served her fellow man. LaRue worked for a time at Ballard Medical and Midgley Manor where she was able to serve with compassion for the elderly and sick.

She survived a heart attack 13 years ago. LaRue is survived by her children, Kay (Joan), Lynn, Karen (Rick), Brent, Janet, Robert and brother, RG; 40 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, two sisters, and son, Mark.

The family thanks CareSource for the loving care they gave in helping her through the final stage of life.
