On Saturday morning, March 6th, 2021, Val Leon Bowlden passed away peacefully in his sleep. Val was 71.

Val was born to Leon and Audrey Bowlden of Midvale, UT on June 11, 1949 in Murray, UT. Val was active in his younger years spending time in the out-of-doors with his father and brother Kim. Val participated in sports and loved the game of baseball. Val served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Netherlands. Upon his return home, he married Pamela Osborne of Crescent, UT. This was the beginning of what Val treated as his most important responsibility, his family. Val also dedicated his life to educating others in the classroom, on the sports field, in the mountains, in his church settings, and most sacredly in his home. Val's professional career led him to teaching at a few secondary educational settings primarily at Bingham High School and working for the South Salt Lake Mosquito Abatement. Val and Pam loved serving in the temple and recently completed a couples mission for their church. Val was a kind, gentle husband, father, and grandfather.

Val was preceded in death by his father, Leon, and his mother, Audrey. He is survived by his wife, Pam, his children Krista and Steve, Mike and Julie, Nate and Barb, Kelli and Kyle and Susie and Dan, eighteen grandchildren, his brother Kim, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A viewing will be held from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, March 16th at Goff Mortuary in Midvale. Funeral services will begin at 11 am on Wednesday, March 17th. There will be a viewing prior to the funeral from 9:45-10:45. Services will be held at the Draper Riverview Stake Center located at 12101 S. 700 W., Draper, Utah.
