Tyler Craig Still

Tyler Craig Still was a man full of a contagious passion.  It didn't matter if he was happy, or mad, he was able to express his situations and emotions so you knew how he felt, and most often he'd convince you to feel the exact same way!  His passionate approach to life was something that carried over into everything he did. Whether he was playing baseball, shredding the slopes with his snowboard, or putting in 18 holes with his dad, he gave it his all.  Tyler always played with so much drive and passion, and worked just the same. He worked hard at underground mining, roofing houses in the hot summers, and even baked a few pizzas back in his prime.  At all these different jobs he left impressions and made new friends. (That is, if you were one of the lucky ones he wanted to be friends with!) All those who knew him would agree that his off taste, quick witted humor was part of what made them begin to love and care about him, and maybe even see his nerdy side. Tyler practiced a ritual trifecta that involved golf, bowling, and  science fiction movies from every decade. He loved science fiction and the hope of science so much, he probably would have donated his own body to some scientific study, if he'd seen far enough ahead to fill out the paperwork! However, after having survived his fair share of near death experiences, even his family was beginning to wonder how his time would ever come and are still in shock at how it suddenly did.  Tyler's mother, Shelly Still, who preceded him in death, must have been there to welcome him peacefully, because he had so much fight in him still. He was a loving son, fiancée, brother, uncle and friend, but it was always obvious there was nothing more important to him than his role as a father, a comforter, and a friend to his two beautiful children, who he loved more than all else. He was limited in ways to show his compassion for them, but always did his best to make sure they knew he was always there for them, and that he always loved them. With that said,  Tyler is survived by his beautiful daughter Shailey, and his cheerful son, Caden. He is also survived by his father, Brian Craig Still, his rock on sandy shores; his brothers Ryan Still and Travis Still, who could make him smile in the darkest of times and lift him from his sorrows; his sister Sherry Still Olsen, who constantly pushed him and wanted him to see what amazing things he had done and could yet do, whether he wanted to or not; and his incredible fiancée, Kim Hortin. The engaged couple hated to be separated, but gained so much from each other in the short time they were able to spend together. Kim was his dream, and it just so happened, she was dreaming of Tyler too.

There are many friends and relatives not listed here that will mourn over the loss of Tyler Still, yet I implore you to reach out to mourn with one you know may also be mourning, and bear one another's burdens at this time. If we can learn anything from Tyler's brief life, we know this is what he would have wanted, and what he would have done.

Funeral services will be held Aug. 4, 2020, with a viewing at 10 a.m., and the funeral at 11 a.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street, Midvale, Utah 84047.
