On January 13, 2025, Tyler Bryce Jarrett passed away unexpectedly at his home in Longmont, Colorado. He was 40 years old.
Tyler was born in Nephi, Utah, to Jeffery and Natalie Jarrett. He was the second son of four siblings (Riley, Chantel, and Trevin). Tyler spent his childhood in Winnemucca, Nevada, where he attended school and graduated from Lowry High School in 2003. Tyler was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter‐day Saints.
On August 14, 2004, Tyler married his high school sweetheart, Layne (Wigglesworth) Jarrett, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Layne was the love of his life. They loved to do everything together. They especially loved camping, hiking, and horseback riding. They were inseparable.
Tyler pursued higher education at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2007. Tyler built a successful career as a Mechanical Engineer and a Senior Supervisor at Climax Molybdenum, a mine in the Rocky Mountains near Empire, Colorado, where he dedicated 16+ years of his life. Tyler loved his work, and it was there that he formed many supportive and lasting friendships for which he was deeply grateful. Always eager to learn and grow, he furthered his education by also earning a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Colorado State University.
Tyler’s greatest joy came from sharing life’s moments with his family. He loved nothing more than taking his family on his boat, often turning those trips into unforgettable getaways. His love for football, especially the Denver Broncos, was unmatched, and he brought his enthusiasm for the game to every gathering. Tyler enjoyed building and customizing guns, finding satisfaction in the details of his work. He loved the great outdoors, especially exploring national parks and planning trips to see more of the earth’s natural beauty. At home, his love for puzzles and board games brought family and friends together for countless hours of fun. Tyler was also a talented cook who constantly experimented with new methods to perfect his food, always striving to make the best meals for his loved ones. His warmth, adventurous spirit, and dedication to his family will be cherished forever.
Tyler was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Layne Kelly (Wigglesworth) Jarrett, who passed away in May 2015. He is survived by his parents, Jeffery and Natalie Jarrett of Stockton, Utah; his siblings, Michael Jarrett of St. George, Utah; Riley and Cassandra Jarrett of Eagle Mountain, Utah; Chantel and Reuben Johnson of Stockton, Utah; Trevin and Kayla Jarrett of Stansbury Park, Utah; his grandmother, Sharon Christensen of Grantsville, Utah; as well as five nieces, Caydence, Cambrea, Ivie, Emma, Millie; and five nephews, Jack, William, Noah, Benson, Madden; as well as numerous family and friends, all who cherished him dearly.
