Tony Johnson

Our loving father, grandfather, brother and friend, Tony Johnson, passed away after a short battle with kidney cancer with his children by his side on October 17th at his home in Midvale. Tony was born on January 3, 1941 in Milford Utah to Richard C. Johnson and Marie Angell Johnson. He graduated from South High School. Tony married his sweetheart and forever companion, Darlene Patterson Johnson, on November 9, 1962 in the Logan Temple. Tony was a Forman for Harv and Higam Masonry and ran hundreds of jobs, some of which were the original Delta Center and Smith's Ball Park. Tony was an accomplished trap shooter and held many state titles. He enjoyed the outdoors - hunting and fishing especially up at Strawberry.

He was the proud and loving father of Shaleen (Johnny) Martin, Cari (Brad) Ertmann and Cort (Rachelle) Johnson. He was the best Grandpa ever to 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Tony was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren and his sweetheart, Darlene. His love for her was never ending and we are sure the reunion was wonderful.

A viewing will be held Monday, Oct. 23 from 6-8 pm and funeral services will be on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 1:00 pm at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street, Midvale. Friends may visit one hour prior to funeral services at the mortuary. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
