Tom Clarence Goble

Tom Clarence Goble, age 71, passed away on the 15th of February 2020. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends! Tom was born September 7th 1948 in Nephi, Utah to Lloyd & Erma Goble. He continued the family tradition of farming and raising sheep. He was the fourth generation on the land in Juab County-- instilling in his children a love for the land and an appreciation for hard work. He had rough hard working hands but a kind gentle heart. We will always treasure our family camping trips, especially to Soldier Summit where he enjoyed herding sheep with his parents, siblings, grandparents, and cousins during his youth. He served a mission to Australia for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, beginning in the Southern Australia Mission and then the Australia West Mission as the mission area was divided. He served in the Army from 1971-1973 as a military policeman in San Francisco, California.

He married Mary Carol Adams in the Manti Utah Temple, August 17th 1974. He was a dedicated and loving father to his five children Jason (Melinda), Jamie (Doug Brocco), Mark (Rhiannon), Matthew (Aimee), and Suzanne (Troy) Moon. He taught us to work, but he also taught us how to have fun! He was always sharing stories and was an excellent listener as well. As his grandchildren came along, he enjoyed sharing family stories with the next generation, taking them on hikes, and wading in the creek. His grandkids were often amazed at how strong he was and enjoyed being carried by grandpa when they got too tired.

He worked full time, while farming full time on the side. He retired from the Juab County Road Department; where he made many friends, including co-workers and those he rescued from the side of the road.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren, Kate & Thayne Goble. In addition to his children & 21 of his grandchildren, he is survived by his siblings Ray (Miwako), Clifton (Jean), Hope (Ben Musselman), and Eileen (Roy Jenkins).

Services will be held at the Nephi Stake Center (351 North 100 West) on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 11:00 am. There will be a viewing Friday, February 21, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Anderson Funeral Home (96 West 300 North, Nephi, Utah) and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment at Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi, Utah. We are so very grateful for his testimony of our Saviour, Jesus Christ, and his willingness to serve in a variety of callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Although we miss him dearly, we know that he has been reunited with loved ones and that one day we will see him again!

In lieu of flowers, eat more lamb and mend fences.
