Obituary
On November 10, 2019, Tim Rex Gober, 61, passed away and went to be with his Savior. After
several years of battling CRPS with grace, he is pain free and celebrating a reunion with family
and friends who left before him. Tim was born December 24, 1957, in Salt Lake City, to James
and Wilda Gober.
He was an avid reader, preferring a book over any digital version which led to several
bookshelves full. While he loved Sammy Hagar and Rob Thomas, you would more often hear
talk radio when in his truck than music. He enjoyed in depth discussions and debates about a
variety of topics, even at 2 AM when he couldn’t sleep. He enjoyed woodworking and working
on his ’66 Mustang in his garage which was lined with quotes, scriptures, and pictures of his
children. The highlight of his life was serving during a missions trip in Zambia, Africa.
Showing his love to his wife, Jennifer, was his favorite hobby. From buying her sunflowers,
keeping track of the items she lost, and writing love notes, he made sure she knew she was
loved and set a high standard when it came to the example he set for his children’s future
partners. Some of our family’s favorite memories took place camping, road tripping along the
western coast, and cruising to the Caribbean and Mexico.
Thursdays were his night to meet with his some of his best friends, Gary McGuire and Dave
Bailey. Daily phone calls to his brother, James “Woody” Gober, took place up to the day Woody
preceded him to heaven. His relationships were the most important thing to him and he worked
hard to show that priority.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; his children, Tiffany Spegar, Ashley (Brett) Milano,
Joshua Gober, and Abbie (CJ) Leisenring; and grandchildren Raelyn, Lynnley, and Laina.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, James and Wilda Gober, sister, Danette (Gober)
Brace, brother James “Woody” Gober and is survived by siblings, Dana (Frank) Bankhead and
Kim Fornelius.
We are very grateful to Dr. Kevin Johnson and especially Dr. Kyle Matsumura and staff for
caring for Tim over the last several years.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider donating to the Salvation Army, a tradition Tim had
every November.
A celebration of life service will be held 10 AM on Friday, November 15, 2019 at The Adventure
Church of Draper, 352 W 12300 S #100, Draper, UT 84020.
We love you,
ATWAB.
