Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Thomas Albert Holt, passed away on March 21, 2021, after a short battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, at home in Sandy, Utah, with his wife by his side.
A man of integrity and a friend to all he met. Thomas was born to Albert Palmer "Butch" and Martha Electa "Dorothy" Holt on March 11, 1939. He graduated from East High School, was Graduating Class President at the University of Utah and a member of the Phi Kappa Alpha fraternity and received his MBA from Brigham Young University.
In 1962 he married and was sealed for eternity to his sweetheart Bonnie Faye Anderson in the Salt Lake Temple.
They moved to St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1965, where Thomas was successful in business and active in the community. He was the President of Fiscal Systems Corporation, Senior Vice President for North Central Life, President of acquisitions, a Board Member of the Wall Street Investing Corporation in New York City, as well as other boards. He served on the Indian Head Council for the Boy Scouts of America and received a Silver Beaver award.
He devoted much of his life to his callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a missionary in the Central Atlantic States Mission, a Bishop, Stake President, Regional Representative, Area Seventy, Mission President for the Idaho Boise Mission, and Temple President of the St. Paul Minnesota Temple.
He was a direct descendent of George Soule, who came to the United States on the Mayflower, and of Burr Frost, who came West with the original Mormon Pioneers.
He had a life-long passion for playing basketball and tennis and has many teammates who became good friends.
His greatest joy in life was his family. He leaves behind his wife Bonnie and six beloved children: Katherine Holt Burgener (Rob) of Park City, UT, David Holt (Anne) of Draper, UT, Margaret Nuttall of Draper, UT, Julianne Holt-Lunstad (Nathan) of Draper, UT, Rebekah Bannink (Duane) of Woodbury, MN and Jonathan Holt (Christy) of Blaine, MN and 22 grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on March 26, 2021, in Salt Lake City.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 25, from 6 pm - 8 pm at Anderson & Goff Mortuary, 11859 South 700 East in Draper, Utah.
