Tesa Fay Sperry

Tesa Fay Sperry (27) unexpectedly left us on Friday, September 18, 2020 due to complications from a pulmonary embolism. Tesa was born in Sacramento, CA on December 14, 1992. While growing up in Sacramento Tesa loved being involved in sports; playing youth soccer and high school cheerleading while later being involved in Roller Derby. Tesa loved camping and being a member of the Girl Scouts, spending numerous summers as a Camp Counselor and working at Camp Menzies with her amazing friends. She also enjoyed being part of the Boy Scouts of America Venturing program attending Jamboree in West Virginia with LaMar and later working at the Boy Scout Shop in Orem while letting everyone know that girls can be Scouts too! Tesa enjoyed family trips to Lake Tahoe to see the snow, any trip to see family and all adventures. The annual Bybee camping trip to Tropic, Utah was something she looked forward to and spoke about often. In 2013 Tesa moved to Utah to complete her dream of finishing her degree in education and becoming an English Teacher. Tesa was married and sealed to Nicholas Sperry on April 25, 2015 in the Mount Timpanogos Temple. They lived in Provo, UT where they had many adventures before moving to West Virginia where Tesa felt at home with her West Virginia Mountaineers. After that school year they moved back to Orem, UT where Tesa completed her education and graduated from Utah Valley University in April 2020 with a Bachelor of Science English Education. Tesa had her dream job of being a High School English teacher at Lehi High School. She loved her school, her peers, and her students. She enjoyed calling or facetiming Tara and LaMar to stay in touch and see her dog Twister. Tesa loved helping others and being involved in something positive. Tesa loved taking trips with Nicholas to see family, seeing a new place, going to a museum, going camping, trying a new restaurant, or just watching TV at home. Tesa and Nicholas had great plans for their life together. Tesa will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. Her bright smile and overflowing personality have brightened many rooms and conversations, please remember those moments.

Tesa is survived by her loving husband Nicholas, Orem, UT; father LaMar Mitchell, brother Andrew Mitchell, dogs Twister and Cooper all of Sacramento, CA; in-laws Nathan and Melissa Sperry, West Jordan, UT and brother-in-law Joshua Sperry, West Valley, UT.
