Terry Carl Bush

Terry Carl Bush, 76, Sandy, Utah, passed away on April 10th, 2025, after sustaining severe injuries from a motor vehicle accident April 9th, 2025. He left this world surrounded by his wife and his children who love him deeply.

Terry was born on July 14th, 1948, in Sandy, Utah to Doty Reinhold Bush & Mildred Stella Starley Bush as the tail end baby. He grew up in Sandy and had three older siblings. brother Starley Doty Bush, brother Robert “Bob” Ray Busch, and sister Alyce Marie Brown. They loved and doted on Terry like he was one of their own children. Terry grew up playing alongside his nieces and nephews while his older sister Alyce watched him for her mother. Terry was a rambunctious, strong-willed baby who would spit in the eye of a snake and make everyone laugh about it later. He attended Jordan High School where he played & lettered in baseball and football. He tried out for a professional baseball team in California as a pitcher in the late 60’s and was offered a position on the coaching staff but declined due to life circumstances. After his playing career ended, he coached his eldest son’s little league baseball teams and all-star teams, he loved baseball and loved helping others learn the game. Terry ended up coaching and helping all his children in their athletic endeavors and made sure to support them at all their events. Terry made his life’s work as an entrepreneur doing general contracting and for a time worked building beautiful houses throughout the Salt Lake valley, later he specialized in heating and air conditioning and ran a successful small business. He had a passion for all sports, camping, fishing, hunting, science-fiction, a good movie, better books, excellent food & good beer. Terry could be described as an easy-going spitfire, offering friendly smiles to anyone and readily able to laugh about all things. He always looked ahead when things got hard and put his head down and did the work. While being a man’s man, Terry loved babies and animals and had many pets throughout his adult life, cat or dog, goat or chicken they loved being in his reassuring and calm presence. Terry was loved and cared for by all who were fortunate to meet & know him. Especially by his wife Misty, two souls that danced together through life. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it. The void his absence leaves can only be filled by living life to honor his memory, so work hard, play hard, laugh often, smile more, & love forever.

Terry is preceded in death by his mother and father, his two older brothers, and several nieces and nephews. Terry is survived by his beloved wife Misty Berg Bush, sister Alyce Marie Brown, son Blake Bush & daughter in-law Angie Bush, son Nathanial Bush & daughter in-law Kelly Bush, daughter Briana Jensen & son in-law Spencer Quinn Jensen & son Erick Bush.
