Teresa M. Engel

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Teresa Marie Engel passed away January 11, 2022, from natural causes. Teresa was residing in St. George, Utah, at the time of her death. Teresa was born November 6, 1931, to Frank and Susie Arnone in Frostburg, Maryland. In 1938, on their way to California to seek work during the Great Depression, the family stopped in Salt Lake City to visit relatives. Teresa's father was told he could get work with the WPA, so the family decided to stay. Teresa resided in various parts of the valley for the next 50 years. During this time, she raised her children from her first marriage, Susan, Joe, Nick, and Linda Marcovecchio.

In 1968, she married the man who turned out to be the love of her life, Harry Engel. The two spent wonderful years together running a successful business, raising their family, and then spending a wonderful retirement in Yuma, Arizona. In retirement they traveled the country during the summer months. Teresa took up golf and excelled in the sport, winning several club matches.

Teresa is preceded in death by her son Joe Marcovecchio, spouse Harry, and daughter Susan Adams. Teresa is survived by her daughter Linda Stilinovich (Joe), son Nick Marcovecchio (Faith), three grandchildren (Michael, Gina, and Joe), two great-grandchildren (Stephanie and Olivia), and sister Rose King.

A graveside service will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery on Saturday, January 15, at 11 am, followed by a celebration of life at Tuccis Cucina Italiana, 515 South 700 East, beginning around 12 noon.
