Ted Christensen

William Ted Christensen, 85, peacefully passed away on August 26, 2015 at Draper Rehabilitation Center. Ted was born on March 19, 1930 to Louis A. and Martha (Bodell) Christensen, the youngest of 8 children.

He married Nedra May Labrum on September 19, 1951. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1952 and were happily married for 64 years. They raised five children together: Del Christensen, Shannon (Gregg) Harker, Mike Christensen, Jerry Christensen, and Brenda (Sean) Cramer.

Ted was a High Priest in the LDS Church and served many callings, including Ward Clerk for almost 20 years. He retired from Kennecott after 35 years of service as a crane operator, and also retired as a maintenance foreman for the Peoria (AZ) School District after 10 years. He had few hobbies, preferring to spend his time helping those in need and caring for the elderly in his Sun City, AZ community.

Ted will be remembered as a man of great compassion for others, and for an unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, our Savior. He was of quick wit, and relished teasing family and friends. You knew you were loved when his eyes sparkled and he blew you a soft kiss or welcomed you with a firm, but gentle hand.

Ted was preceded in death by his 7 siblings, son Del, and many nieces and nephews. He is survived by Nedra, the love of his life; his remaining four children; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand- and great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held at Goff Mortuary in Sandy on Saturday, August 29 at 11:30 am, followed by funeral services at 1 pm. Graveside services will be held at Herriman Cemetery.
