On October 4, 2021, our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family. Her final years were marred by dementia, but she endured admirably.
"Tammy" was born January 21, 1941, to Merlin Chester and Verna Green Gardner. She was raised along with her 4 siblings in Levan, Utah.
Tammy married Allen J. Howell on June 14, 1958 and the couple was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 25, 1964. Besides being the best wife and mother, Tammy was creative and organized. This helped in her passion for genealogy and family history and her hobbies of oil painting, creating porcelain dolls and collecting antiques. She served faithfully in many church callings, including President of Primary, Relief Society and Special Needs Primary. She treasured her testimony of the gospel and being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Tammy is survived by her husband of 63 years, Allen; son Gregg (Connie); daughter Janet (Terry); daughter Sandy; daughter Staci (Craig); daughter Kristen (Greg); daughter Katie (Justin); 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings: Van (Cherry) Gardner, Debbie (Doug) Smith, and Mollie (Lee) Taylor. She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Karen Kendall.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021, from 12:00-12:30 pm at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North, Nephi. Funeral services will follow at 12:30 pm. Interment will be at the Levan City Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
