Obituary
Susan Olsen Carlisle, age 72, passed away May 31, 2019 at home in Sandy, Utah due to natural causes. Susan was born to Marjorie Laver and Roy Olsen at the hospital in Logan, Utah on October 2, 1946 where the doctor gave her a $1 bill for being the most beautiful baby.
Susan spent part of her elementary education in Mantua, Utah and the remaining in Brigham City, Utah. She was very talented and sang with the Madrigals at Box Elder High School. After graduation, she married Vin Andreason and they welcomed a beautiful baby boy named Bryan. They later divorced.
Susan then went to work as a legal secretary at Thiokol where she met and later married Lee Pope and a pretty little girl, Dina Leigh, was born. They lived in many different places during their marriage; Salt Lake City, California, Arizona, New York, Saigon, Malaysia and eventually ended up in Texas. Later they divorced.
Susan was married to Larry Carlisle until his death. Larry had two boys Brian and Chris, that Susan helped raise as her own. They settled in Mississippi, where they remodeled a very beautiful home and eventually moved to Texas. She was a very talented artist and decorator, always making a beautiful home wherever she lived and baby dolls were her favorite things. Her children became adults and started their own lives while in Texas. Her health continued to decline further and after Larry passed, she relocated to Salt Lake City to be closer to her sisters, Sheron, Deanna, and Judy.
She is survived by her son Bryan Lee Pope, her daughter Dina Leigh Pope, stepsons Brian Carlisle and Chris Carlisle, sisters Judy Richardson, Deanna Valentine and Peni Parker, and son-in-law Gary Zupancic.
She was preceded in death by her husband Larry Carlisle.
A private Celebration of Life will be held.
