Steve Wallace Klein, Sr.

August 8, 1943 — April 25, 2016

Steve Wallace Klein, Sr.

Steve Wallace Klein, Sr. slipped peacefully into the care of his loving Heavenly Father on April 25, 2016. He lived life to the fullest, experiencing many adventures and creating a full life canvas. He longed for the day that he would shed this mortal body and allow his spirit to be as free as he was all of his life. He had a deep love of family bonds and believed that time was best spent among friends and family with good food, laughter, fast cars, and most of all, his love of children.

He was born August 8, 1943 to Manuel Milton Klein and Dessie Christine Branham, both deceased, in his beloved home state of South Carolina. He leaves a loving family who celebrates his life and his memories, including his wife of twenty-one years, Doris, and his sisters Faye, Beatrice, and Mara. He held great love for his daughters Sherrie, Francie, Starr, Tammy, Briana, and Stephanie (Tony) and his step-daughters Megan (Scott) and Shannon (Josh); and his sons Dwayne, Steve Jr., Jason (Sheryl), Timothy (Cristy), and was preceded in death by his son Steven Vincent. He was blessed to have 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He will be missed as a Father and grandfather, a conversationalist, and a source of crazy yet true stories. His greatest accomplishment came late in life when he was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints and made peace between him and the Lord.

A memorial service will be held at Hillcrest First Ward, 8485 South 1000 East, Sandy, Utah, at 11:00 AM on April 28, 2016. We gratefully acknowledge all those who have befriended and enjoyed the company and added color to the canvas for Dad over many years, including the loving care of neighbors and the wonderful staff of the Canyon Creek Memory Care Unit, who so beautifully tended to his needs over the last period of his life. His urn will be buried with his mother, Dessie Branham Gardner at the Valley View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a research foundation for either Parkinson's Disease or the fight against Diabetes.
