Stein Reber Sandberg

Stein Reber Sandberg passed away on June 16, 2019. He was born November 23, 1948 to Garth and Donna Sandberg in Hurricane, UT. He was the 5th of 6 children-the only blonde-haired, blue-eyed child; which was the inspiration for his Swedish name, Stein (pronounced Steen). He married the love of his life, Linda Miller Sandberg on August 2, 1979 in the Salt Lake Temple.

In his youth, Stein earned his Eagle Scout, and served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Stockholm, Sweden mission. He served many callings in the Church including Young Men's President, Assistant Ward Clerk and Stake Executive Secretary. He graduated with a B. S. in Electrical Engineering and later became a Professional Engineer. Stein utilized his degree for his entire professional career as a planner for what is now Rocky Mountain Power.

Stein loved spending time with his family; and never missed a Friday night date with his sweetheart.

Years ago, Stein was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. By a chance miracle, he was gifted a lung transplant that gave him an additional 10 years. He and his family have cherished these precious gifted years! Although his life has ended, the impact he has had will forever be remembered in the lives he touched.

Survived by: his wife, Linda Miller Sandberg, his children, Jamie (James) Hall, Christie (Jeff) Nichols, Kate (Bryce) Bird, Stein Shawn (Janine) Sandberg, 8 Grandchildren.

Viewing and funeral will be at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (2666 West 7000 South, West Jordan). Viewing will be Friday, June 21st from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral will be on Saturday, June 22nd at 12:00 pm, with a viewing prior at 11:00 am.
