Obituary
Our angel on earth left her broken body and ran into the arms of her grandparents and uncle on the other side as she was surrounded by loved ones here after the effects of a prolonged seizure took their toll at 1:14 am on August 18, 2018 in the Neuro Critical Care unit at IMC in Murray, UT. She was preceded in passing by her grandparents Jon Gene Perry and Shirley Mae Butler Perry and uncle Robert Maughan Williamson.



Sierra Mae Williamson was born on May 20, 1995 at Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg, Idaho to Nathan James Williamson and Rebecca Perry Williamson just 2 months after her grandparents passed in a car accident. She had a cute little baby nook painted up for her in their old bedroom. She moved to Utah with her parents 3 weeks later and after spending a few weeks with Great Aunt Pat and Uncle Richard, settled into a little pink trailer in Magna, Utah. The family spent about 1.5 years there before they found a house across from Mountain Shadows Elementary school in West Jordan. Once the plans of a Wal-Mart up the street were announced in 2002, the family trekked 2 miles south to her current home on a quiet little horseshoe in the Cobble Creek Stake where she has been loved and given much love in return, though she does that with anyone anywhere.



At 10 months of age an MRI confirmed Sierra had Cerebral Palsy from abnormal brain development and a stroke in utero. This explained her ‘angel baby’ behavior that we had loved but became more concerned with as time passed. She was quiet and calm and didn’t complain about much of anything. She started with occupational therapy and physical therapy and visits from the School of the Blind. She made progress, but slowly. She scooted around by the age of 2, was crawling about age 3, and finally took her first steps walking at the age of 6. Her first seizure was at Thanksgiving in Boise not long after that.



School was a part of her life from age 3. What a tough thing to send your little one on the hip of the bus driver! She attended school with DDI Vantage Early Head Start program at an elementary school on Redwood Road until she was ready for kindergarten at Jordan Valley School. She loved it there and we were sad when the school district split before Kauri Sue Hamilton School came into her life in 2009. Sierra had an amazing time there. She had the same teacher, Sue Fitzgerald for most of it. We are so grateful to them for the care and compassion they show all their students every day! The seminary program was a special part of her day and she graduated with at least 6 years of it. She had to move on last year, but Kauri Sue will be her home school always. Sierra also loved and brought sunshine to many bus drivers through the years.



Her caregivers started with Mary in Magna to Bobbi Guest, Claire Van Noy, Megan and Michelle Koplin, Michelle Wright, Shekeirra and Diamond Call, Katreena Leavitt, and Hannah and Eliza Hakanson most recently, with lots of people from A Caring Hand and the Ward who she loved as well. When her sister Hailey, was old enough, she watched her a lot. She was the longest running caregiver Sierra had.  During the summer, she would have ‘Day Camp’ with Turn Community Services; so much fun and great people! And most recently Reliant Services was her program; thanks to them for their time and care! Also love to her coordinator Michelle Hiles for making it all happen with goodness. It takes special hearts to volunteer to feed, shower, dress, change briefs, and plug your ears through screaming. Sierra’s life was blessed by you and she developed bonds of love with each of you.



Sierra became a big sister to Hailey Shae Williamson when she was 2, then Carsen James Williamson almost 2 years later, and Paige Irene Williamson 8.5 years after that. It was fun and difficult to watch each of them meet and then pass her in their development. They have learned the joy of compassion and selfless service and are Sierra’s biggest supporters. She couldn’t have wished for a more loving family! Her grandparents Dee James Williamson and Janet Sevy Williamson have been close and Grandma Williamson has always taken wonderful care of her. They have a special relationship. She has many aunts, uncles and cousins who love her dearly. She recently acquired a step dad, Bruce Jonathan Reed and 4 new step siblings; Marlee May Reed, Makenna Nicole Reed, Seth Michel Reed  and Samuel Jonathan Reed and another big family to love and be loved by.



Sierra is a perfect example of unconditional charity. Strangers are friends and she will give a hug and smile to everyone she can. We will miss those!



Sierra leaves a hole in our hearts, but we will keep the sunshine and smiles she placed there and rejoice in knowing that she is free from pain and earthly limitations she struggled with here and is cradled in the arms of loved ones and her Savior and Heavenly Father. We will be so happy to hug her and talk to her and share a dance and maybe some real food when we see her next.
