Shirley Rose Roberts Fowler, beloved mother, grandmother & great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully on June 2, 2023 at the age of 85.
Shirley was born April 23, 1938 in Provo Utah to Lorell Eugene Roberts and Verna Lela Jensen.
She lived in Provo with her Grandparents Jensen for a time during her childhood where she loved them and loved living there.
She graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1956 and was an active member of the glee club and other school activities.
She moved to Salt Lake City to work for the phone company where she met and married Richard Jones. She would become the doting mother to 3 children they welcomed into their family.
Shirley was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and loved teaching her primary boys and was so proud that they all went on to serve missions.
She loved family vacations and would prepare all year in anticipation of summer adventures both locally and afar. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing card games with her family.
She worked to help support her family and loved working in various positions that included Oquirrh Elementary, Morgan Scalley, and JCPenney where she retired and was celebrated for her many years of service.
Shirley would later meet and marry Lewis Fowler and they lived together in her home in Midvale.
She loved celebrating her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and would excitedly attend all of their events. She also loved her nieces and nephews who visited often. She never missed a birthday, anniversary, or holiday. She was very talented at cross-stitching and made baby blankets for all of her grand, and great-grandchildren.
Shirley is preceded in death by husband, Lewis Fowler, and her parents. She is survived by her brothers Glenn Roberts (Cathie), Allen Roberts, Jayare Roberts, and Stan Roberts (Jane Hamade), as well as children Steve (Maurine White) Sharla (Wes Hill), and Michelle (Jon Brinkerhoff), along with 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am on June 13, 2023 at 8171 South Jackson Street, Midvale, Utah 84047. A family viewing will be held beforehand at 10:00 am. Interment will be in the Midvale Cemetery, Midvale, Utah after the service.
