1927-45 Elementary – High School in Providence, UT. Baer family farm fruit & dairy worker. Cared for a variety of livestock. Did haying, grain harvesting, crop watering, cultivating, and weeding. Grew/harvested: apricots, cherries, peaches, pears, cantaloupe, watermelons, grapes, strawberries, apples, raspberries, tomatoes, sugar beets.

1945-46 Graduated high school then worked another year on his dad’s fruit and dairy farm. 

1946-47 Served in the Army for 18 months as a discharge orders typist. Army camp in CA 

1948-51 Missionary in Norway for 2-1/2 years

1951-54 BS degree. Started at Utah State University. Logan, UT (Aside from GI bill income, he sold McNess products door to door and worked on his dad Von’s farm for pay) Completed BS degree at University of Utah, SLC, UT

1954-55 MS degree. Brigham Young University, Provo, UT

1955-57 PhD degree. Ohio State University. Columbus, OH (cleaned a barber shop and tutored kids on the side for pay)

[Taught theory and supervised clinics in organic speech and language disorders like aphasia, cleft palates, brain damage, in universities, hospitals, schools. Full Professor.]

1955-57 Speech Therapy for Cerebral Palsied & Aphasic patients. Columbus, OH.

1957-59 School Principal for Council for Intellectually Disabled Children of Franklin County, Columbus, OH 

1959-62 Elmira College Assistant professor and director of Speech and Hearing Department and Clinic as well as speech and hearing therapist. Elmira, NY

1962-64 Brigham Young University assistant professor and clinic coordinator. Provo, UT
