Shauna Lee Day Rudd, 90, Our beloved mother, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt and friend, Shauna Lee Day Rudd passed away from natural causes March 5, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Born July 17, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Effie Irene Blackner and Henry Snow Day. She had a wonderful childhood growing up in Draper, graduating from Jordan High School in 1950.
She married Harry William Rudd on June 23, 1952. They raised their family of five children in Salt Lake City. Shauna worked for many years for her father’s Ford dealership, Henry Day Ford. Spending time with family and friends was her greatest joy. Throughout her life, she stayed in touch with her “Jordan Friends” from high school; getting together every year for New Years Eve. Shauna loved learning, art, traveling, hiking, gardening, sewing, reading, cooking, decorating, planning parties, and serving her church and family.
Much of her time was dedicated to serving in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as Relief Society President, Primary President, Stake Primary President, 15 years in the St George Temple, a Humanitarian mission in St George, 3 missions to the Bishop’s Storehouse in Lehi, Utah, and 6 years in the Jordan River Temple. She never missed an opportunity to teach us life lessons in working hard, avoiding conflict, kindness, and love of family. Shauna has left behind a great legacy of love and service.
Shauna is survived by 4 children, Bruce (Vickie) Rudd, Kitura (Brad) Kimball, Minon (Mark) Francis, Blaine (Shari) Rudd; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Tonya Atkinson, Diana (Jerry) Hendricksen, Margie (Kim) Ihler; brother Michael (Carolyn) Day. Preceded in death by parents; husband Harry W. Rudd; son, Bryan Rudd; granddaughter Angela Rudd; and sister, Joycelyn Maynes.
A viewing will be held Friday, March 10, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Anderson & Goff Mortuary, 11859 South 700 East, Draper, Utah. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 11th at 11:00 a.m. at Riverton 16th Ward, 1208 West 12400 South, Riverton, Utah where a viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Interment: Lake Hills Cemetery, Sandy, Utah.
