Shauna Rae Mcneill

After struggling with Dementia, Shauna passed away peacefully on February 20, 2021 at her home in Hurricane, Utah.  She was an extraordinary person; a beautiful, strong, caring, courageous, tender, and compassionate individual.  Her family, friends, and those whose lives she touched will miss her immensely.

Shauna, a war baby, was born August 29, 1944 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ray Lewis Draper and Wanda Fern Peck.  She grew up in Midvale, Utah. Shauna was a "Beet Digger" at Jordan High and graduated from the U of U with a BS Degree in Nursing. She enjoyed her role as an "Angel of Mercy."

After college, Shauna served as a missionary in the British South Mission in England for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She met Thomas James McNeill in England and they were married September 5, 1968.  They were blessed with 7 children, Melinda, Shellie, Kenneth, Evelyn (deceased), Becky, Shawn, and Donald. While T.J. was employed in the mining industry, they lived in New Mexico, Arizona, and Montana. After retirement, they lived in Utah and Idaho.

Shauna and T.J. served missions in the Ireland Dublin, Inner-city SLC, London England Temple, New Mexico Farmington and New York Rochester Missions.  As a missionary she was fearless in sharing her testimony of Jesus Christ and the latter-day restoration of His church. She was a student of the scriptures and studied the gospel daily. Shauna demonstrated her love of the gospel through being a kind, empathetic, Christlike person. Together, she and T.J. met and associated with a great number of good people whom they hold in their hearts.

Shauna is survived by her brother Melvin and sister Diana, T.J., and children- Melinda, Shellie, Ken (Cindy), Becky (Bryan), Shawn (Kara), Donald (Kelsie) and 14 grandchildren.  Viewing and services will be held at Goff Mortuary in Midvale on February 26, 2021. The funeral will be live streamed on the Goff Mortuary Facebook page at 11:00 a.m.  Shauna will be interred at the McNeill Family Cemetery in Bluewater, New Mexico on February 28, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the missionary fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
