Shannon Leone Clawson Pecht

We lost a vivacious, spirited soul today. Shannon Leone Clawson Pecht, 79, died as she lived, eloquently, with class, meaning and grace. Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend returned to the loving arms of her Father in Heaven Friday, April 17, following complications due to a stroke. She patiently looked forward to a reunion with her husband Charles, parents, and loved ones. Shannon was born May 1, 1935, in Salt Lake City, Utah to James Lowell Clawson and Leona Della King. She attended Davis High School and Weber State College where she was active in many musical endeavors participating in the opera and dance programs. During this time she was also crowned Miss Davis County. She married her eternal companion, Charles William Pecht, Jr. on July 29, 1955, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived numerous places over the years where many long-lasting friendships were made. She tirelessly stood by Chucks side as he realized his dream of opening his own jewelry store and continued her unfailing support as he battled cancer for ten years. A devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she demonstrated her love for the Savior by serving her family and countless friends every day. Her compassionate nature made everyone feel welcome and she loved a good visit. She greatly enjoyed her service in many Relief Society and Young Women presidencies, as well as in the Jordan River Temple. She leaves a legacy of hard work, church devotion and family dedication. She was extremely patient and long suffering through many of lifes trials. She often said she had lived her dream to marry in the House of the Lord and become a loving mother. She nurtured and raised five children and took great pride in being a homemaker and creating an atmosphere of love and beauty for her family. We love you mom and know you are in the presence of loving and kind individuals whose spirits are as noble as your own. We will continue your legacy. The family would like to thank Hospice for Utah for their kind and tender care of our mother during her final week on earth. She is survived by her five children, Natalie Pecht, Charles Matthew Pecht (Denise Madsen), Spencer Pecht (his children Dylan and Aleigh), Julianne Wallace (D. Barrett), and Lance William Pecht. Nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: Kellen Matthew Pecht (Sarah Gaisford) and great-grandaughter Riley Adelynn Pecht, preceded by great-grandson Kaden Mitchell Pecht, Madison Reid (Michael Daniel), Matthew J Pecht, Dalton Barrett Wallace (McKenna England), Mackenzie Wallace, Jonathan Barrett Wallace, Dallin Michael Wallace. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 11 AM in the Hillcrest 5th Ward, 915 E. 9045 So. Visitations will be on Friday evening from 6-8 PM at the Ward and also on Saturday 9:30-10:30 AM prior to services. Burial will follow in the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Dr.
