Scott Kerwynn Gotberg

Beloved Scott K. Gotberg passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018 after a short medical condition of uncertain cause.

Born May 14, 1953 to Kenneth Elwood and Leola LaRue Simmons Gotberg, Scott was the firstborn of six children.

Growing up in the farmlands of Draper, UT, Scott was adventurous and devilish; if Scott was around, there was trouble brewing; many mothers worried when their sons headed out the door with Scott. He made his own fun.

Scott graduated, 1971, from Jordan High School, later served in the United States Air Force. Scott was a Journeyman Electrician; currently employed with Central Electric in SLC. Scott was loyal to his employer, and devoted to his customers.

Scott loved the outdoors; in his younger days, he and his pals 'owned' Corner Canyon, frequently visiting Lone Peak and surrounding canyons. He had the luxury of small town freedoms and was sly enough to take advantage of every bad-boy opportunity. Scott lived and played hard and fast.

Scott enjoyed square dancing with his Companion, Sandy. He also enjoyed hiking, fishing, camping, hunting, gardening, helping others, and just being Right!!

Scott is very much loved and shall be sorely missed by his mother; companion, Sandy Dagsen; brothers, Randy (Shauna), Rick (Cindy), Trent (Cathy) Gotberg; sister, Lynnette Moore; nine beautiful nieces, their spouses and children; many aunts, uncles, cousins; step-brother James Robert Kreek (Stephanie); a plethora of friends, acquaintances, and associates whom he loved and who loved him.

Preceded in death by baby sister LeAnn Gotberg; grandparents Simmons/Gotberg; step-father, Thomas O. Kreek; 4-leggers Sammy, Queenie, Bossy; the Ol' Man.

The family offers special thanks to Dr. Barclay Bigelow and staff, as well as doctors, nurses and supporting staffs at Lone Peak and St. Mark's Hospitals.

Memorial service to be held Wednesday, January 17, 2018, 10:00 am at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered, in his name at the following address: Scott Gotberg, c/o Lynnette Moore, 11191 S 465 E, Sandy, UT 84070.
