Scott Douglas Bergvall, 74, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away on May 15, 2017. He was born to the late Viola and Harry Bergvall in Salt Lake City on August 25, 1942. He died peacefully and surrounded by loved ones.
Scott worked as a mechanical insulator until his retirement in 2013. He was an accomplished craftsman and enjoyed building many things in his spare time. He was a Golden Member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles with over 40 years of membership and was inducted into the Eagles Hall of Fame. He was an avid golfer who also loved cooking, spending time with his friends and family, adventures out of doors, and giving goofy nicknames to his animals and children. His children are grateful for the time he shared exploring Utah and the western states, and the accompanying endless education on the ecology, geology, and history of the region.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Bergvall; daughters, Heidi and Rachel (Matt), of Salt Lake City; and son Ethan (Gena), of Bethesda, Maryland. He is also survived by his granddaughters, Avery and Alexis; sister, Valerie; brother, Brent; and dear friend, Margo. He was preceded in death by his son, Brian and sister, Diane.
His family would like to thank all of the nurses and aides at IHC Hospice, Sandy Health & Rehab, and Traditions Assisted Living for the remarkable care that he received in his final weeks.
A celebration of his life will be held from 1 until 4 on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles located at 10 West 4th Avenue in Murray, Utah.
