Sally Mcpherron

Sally passed away in Salt Lake City due to complications from a long battle with cancer. She was a strong woman and fought each and every day with a smile on her face. She passed away peacefully with her siblings and daughter by her side.

Sally was born to Richard and Verla Rowland and grew up on Wasatch Boulevard. She was the middle of seven children. Her and her siblings would explore the area before any houses were built there. Being an adventurous family, Sally loved being outdoors. She enjoyed hiking, boating, and camping. The family built a small cabin in the Uinta Mountains and it was one of her favorite places in the world because of all the memories created there. She remained close with her whole family, especially her sisters.

In 1986, she married Shawn McPherron. She was great mom who loved her stepson and stepdaughter as if they were her own. Then in 1995, her daughter Shannon was born. Her love only grew from then on and she spoiled Shannon at every opportunity.

Sally loved animals. There are many stories of her and her daughter saving a baby bird or rescuing a stray dog. There was a day when a neighbor found a cockatiel and their first thought was to call Sally. She couldn't say no and took it in in an instant. Her and Shannon were able to find the owners by putting up signs. She had a real knack for picking great pets as well. Her favorite pets were Heidi and Rocket, a Bernese Mountain dog and a Gordon Setter.

She is survived by her daughter Shannon and stepchildren Greg and Tracy; mother Verla; sisters Julie, Peggy and brothers Matt, Paul, Rob, Jonathan; many grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held.
