Rose Henscheid Bakoulas passed away at home on February 24, 2022 at the age of 89. Rose was born in Blackfoot, Idaho on May 10, 1932 as the 7th child of 11 children to Mary Sieger and Henry Henscheid. Rose was married to George Pete Bakoulas on November 6, 1954.
Rose was raised on a farm in Blackfoot, Idaho where she spent much time helping on the farm. Rose was Homecoming Queen her senior year at Blackfoot High and proud to share this with everyone. Rose and George loved dancing every Friday night for many years. She also loved the Utah Jazz during the Karl Malone and John Stockton days, cherishing her John Stockton memorabilia. For many years, the family traveled, went camping, and boating with family and friends. During her working career, Rose was excellent on the 10-key calculator. She even wrote a tax program for her employer when computers were first introduced. Rose was a caregiver for her husband and two children for many years due to Myotonic Dystrophy.
Rose is survived by her daughter Karen (Kelly) Heaps, granddaughters Brandi Heaps and Anne Thomas, great grandson Ashton Coleman, brother Norbert Henscheid, sister Theresa Boykin, sisters-in-law DeLoris, Belva, and Mary Lou, her BFF Clara Hoppel and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband George, children Diane and John, grandson Michael Thomas, sisters Florence, Cecelia, Leoba, Mary, Christina, brothers Raymond, Bernard, and Leo.
We know that she has reunited again with her loved ones, especially her husband, children and family which she dearly missed.
The family wishes to express appreciation to nurses Kim and Katie and her favorite aide Maria from Valeo Hospice for taking such loving care, and also to Jan Fritz for her special care and companionship.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 4 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church, 624 W. Lennox St., Midvale, with a viewing one hour prior. There will also be a viewing on Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St., Midvale, with a Rosary service starting at 7:00 p.m. Interment, West Jordan City Cemetery.
