Ronald Waldo Robins was born July 2, 1929 to Waldo George Robins and Mary Erda Anderson in Salina, Utah. He was the oldest of three children. He passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024, peacefully at the age of 94. He grew up on a farm in Scipio, Utah. During fall break of 1949, while attending Utah State University, he returned home for a missionary farewell. At this time he met his sweetheart, Elda Lucille Christensen at a dance in Fayette, UT. They were married on September 8, 1950 in the Manti, Utah Temple. They had four children.
In 1951, Ronald earned a Bachelors Degree in General Agriculture at Utah State University. Shortly thereafter, he was drafted into the Army where he served during the Korean war from 1952-1954. He served at Camp Richards, CA for a few months, and then to Fort Carson CO, where he and Lucille remained until his honorable discharge in 1954. They then returned to Utah State University where he received a Masters degree in Agriculture Economics.
He worked for over 39 years for the Farmers Home Administration, U.S. Department of Agriculture. He started out as a Housing Specialist/Multi-Housing Coordinator, later he became a Farmers Management Specialist and lastly an Appraiser. His job assignments took him many places in Utah. They lived in Tremonton, Utah for 16 Years and Sandy, Utah for 46 Years where he and Lucille settled for the remainder of their lives.
Ronald loved playing cards and dominoes. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid gardener, and enjoyed sharing his harvest with family and friends. He will be remembered for his many peaches, apples and delicious dried apple pieces. He loved traveling on cruises with family where he spent each night dancing. He was an excellent square dance caller.
Ronald was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving as Ward and Stake Sunday School President and Counselor, Gospel Doctrine, Assistant Ward Clerk in three Bishoprics, Ward Clerk for over 20 years in four Bishoprics, Executive Secretary and Bishops Counselor. He also served as a Temple worker in the Jordan River Temple for over eleven years. He also helped as the Assisted Living Coordinator at the Assisted Living Center.
Ron is survived by his four children Nancy Reid (George), Sally Carter (Sterling), Lynn Robins (Suzette), Brian Robins (Kim). He has 15 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife Lucille Robins, brother Morris Robins, sister Valene Baker, grandson Nathan Harris, great grandchildren Teghan Underwood and Liam Rire.
