Ronald Wayne Jensen passed away on October 29, 2018 at the age of 84. Ronald was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 3, 1934 to Montel and Nola Jensen. He grew up in Salt Lake City, and graduated from South High School in 1952. He earned a bachelor's and master's degree from the University of Utah.
Ronald met Lucretia Baggett on February 24, 1956 and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on August 31, 1956. He was a high school band/orchestra leader and taught math in the Granite School District for 34 years. He played in the marching band at the University of Utah, the 23rd Army Band, and served in the National Guard.
He loved all things University of Utah and enjoyed attending basketball and football games for many, many years. His family was his first priority and a hallmark in his life. He had a great sense of humor and he had a private joke with everyone he knew.
He served in many capacities in the church through the years and religion was a big part of his life. He was a wonderful husband, dad and grandpa, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by son Steven, and survived by wife Lucretia, daughters Lyn (LaMond), Darlene (John), daughter-in-law Marilyn, and grandchildren Emily, Jennifer, Jeff, Scott, Justin, Melonie, Joshua, Caleb, and Jacob, and 10 great-grandchildren.
There will be a viewing on Friday, November 2nd from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Union Park 1st Ward on 7699 S. Chad St. in Midvale. Funeral services will be held at the same building on Saturday, November 3rd. There will be a viewing from 11-12 followed by the funeral at 12. Interment will be at the Elysian Gardens cemetery.
