Ronald Leonard Ivory passed away on June 10, 2024 surrounded by family. Ron was born March 23, 1947 in Ogden, Utah to Earl Wilson Ivory and Roma Oldroyd. He was the youngest of three children.
Ron married the love of his life, Mary, on January 20, 1967 in Nephi, Utah and later sealed in the Manti, Utah Temple. Ron and Mary built a beautiful home and life in Fountain Green with their four sons. Everyone always felt welcome in the Ivory home. Ron found great joy in watching his family grow.
Ron was a talented accountant. He retired from working for North Sanpete School District and then ran a successful accounting business, Ivory Financial, for over 20 years.
Ron found great joy in civic service. He was twice-elected Mayor of Fountain Green, school board member, and Justice Court Judge, however his favorite way to serve was with the Lions Club. He served in many capacities including as District Governor and enjoyed the service activities that fostered many friendships throughout the state. He also found joy in many church callings.
Despite his physical limitations, he was able to accomplish all these things and many more. He was cheerful, positive, and lifted up others. Mosiah 2:17 “… when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.”
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Brian Ivory, grandson Kyle Ivory, and brother Robert Ivory.
He is survived by sons Ronald R Ivory (Connie) of Ephraim, Jerime Ivory of Fountain Green, and Michael Ivory (Alexis) of Vernal, sister Leola Mikkelsen (Glen) of Woods Cross, twelve grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the residents and staff of Ashford Assisted Living in Springville for the friendship and loving care that was shown.
A viewing will be held Friday, June 14, 2024 from 6 pm to 8 pm and Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am with funeral services starting at 11 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 151 South 200 West in Fountain Green.
